Introducing The Initiative
Founded in 2017 by entrepreneurs Thibault Bouquet, Romain Dreyfus, Youri Michel and Romain Ribera, The Initiative was created with a vision to disrupt the British Food and Beverage industry – and they’re proving to do just that.
Originating from regions across France, all four members of The Initiative worked their way up the hospitality industry throughout England and Europe and a decade on, they have combined their experience and channelled their industry intel into a hospitality concept which understands the constantly changing expectations of customers.
Ready to turn their attention to their own projects, the group decided to take the course of the F&B industry into their own hands. All in their early 30’s, each member of the group possesses a set of unique characteristics and skills which combined, have built the foundation for The Initiative’s success.
Following its inception, The Initiative has understood the new demands and competitors of London’s dining scene; social media and its ability to push a brand, global holistic health movements which have encouraged menus to surrender to all different diets and the rise in gourmet food home delivery. It is this first-hand understanding which has encouraged The Initiative to steer their ventures and openings into the realms of food markets, community spaces and smaller projects which hold creativity and customer service at their core.
Since the group’s first venture, The French Corner in Mercato Metropolitano Southwark, The Initiative has reaffirmed their core brand ethos – to develop their hospitality concepts around the needs of local communities in prospective launch areas, never to enforce it.
Over the course of the next two years, the trajectory of openings and product launches across the UK is not set to slow:
